This idea and song were given to me as a challenge by Samsas/Jen over on Vo’s Imagining’s Group. The song is from the 2024 Christmas movie starring Antonio Banderas as Harrod and the song is titled “It’s Good to be King.”
She posted it as a bunny for a fic and of course I saw Gibbs all over it and had to do it.
So, Jen, this is for you for the bunny.

Tony watched as everyone fawned over Gibbs return, And Gibbs ate it up.

It’s good to be king
And have the absolute authority
All the attributes of divinity

Look how they all worship me

He watched and heard Gibbs call Ric Pacci. And Ric wince.

Don’t have to be good
To be a good king
Just gotta look
Like you’ve got sympathy
Then keep ’em rooked and suffering
To maximize your profiting

Patting the probie on the head like the good dog he was, while yelling at Tony to get a move on and get some work done.

Look how the peasants work down to the bone
As I sit up high on my velvety throne
Pulling the strings on the people below
It’s so stinking good to be king

All but demand Tim clean out Gibbs email and fix the programs he buggered, while commenting on what idiot decided to go tech instead of the old ways.

Tony well remembered Gibbs line after his near-death experience; “Your irreplaceable Tony. Forget it McGee he lived.”
