Gyges A Marauders Tale

As Plato tells the morality tale of Gyges, a simple traveler from ages past in Greece. He came upon a fallen man in a well, who had died there. There he removed the wondrous Ring that granted the wearer invisibility. With this Ring, Gyges eventually made his way up the ranks to be King of the lands around him. Only to fall when another found out about what brought him to power.
Thus begins the tale of the Peverell Brothers who were also granted Powers each, and except for one, fell from grace by their hubris. The survivor met with the granter of his Power in the end and walked away into legend, leaving behind everything to his descendants to eventually fall into the hands of the descendant, James Potter. Who upon receiving this wondrous gift, used it for the Power, it could gift him with. Just like his so many great uncles back when.

Like Gyges before him and his friends, that Power came to the attention of others who made sure it was not available to him in his actual time of need, so his family was protected from his enemies. Much like the elder brother Peverell who had boasted of Power and was killed for it. Much as Gyges and Cadmus had been killed for it; he fell because that Power he had come to rely on was taken from him by another’s greed.

Thus, eventually the Great House Peverell fell to Potter as they too, were subsumed into others and fell into legends of other times.
