Bad Times – an NCIS fic

Season 03: Episode 22: Jeopardy
Song Fic: Bad Moon Rising by CCR.

Bad Times

I see the bad moon arising
I see trouble on the way
I see earthquakes and lightnin’
I see bad times today

Don’t go around tonight
Well, it’s bound to take your life
There’s a bad moon on the rise

Good God almighty, get me out of here. My head is about to explode. That was the longest three hours of my entire freaking life.”
“You’re the one who said no to the muzzle. I wanted to shut his pothole two hours ago.”
“It’s ‘pie-hole.’ And by the way, we went to the Arby’s drive-thru. No such thing as a ride thru. How long have you lived here anyway?”
“Man, get off me.”
“I’ll pay you to take him upstairs.”
“Just name your price.”
“My rock beat your scissors.”
“Besides, I’ve got 5 million in heroin.”
“That’s nothing.”
“Really? I have a feeling your South African suppliers won’t feel the same way. Considering how much you owe them, be thankful you’re in our custody. We’re your new best friends.”
I don’t care what you do to me. I’m not talking.
“I find that really hard to believe.”
“All yours, Agent David. Come on, man. Take off the cuffs. Yeah.”
“Yeah, what’s his problem, huh? You. You’re insulting, you’re crude and most of all you are extremely annoying.”
I’m annoying? He’s the one rambling on and on about Top Gun, giving me a freaking migraine.
I didn’t realize I had to sit in silence the entire trip.”
“Last I checked, the First Amendment guaranteed Enough! Get in.”
“No.”
“He’s a newbie.”
“Thank you.”

He’s dead.”

I hear hurricanes a-blowing
I know the end is coming soon
I fear rivers overflowing
I hear the voice of rage and ruin

Once Tony realized the perp was laying dead in the elevator with the only one who could have done it being Officer Dav’id, he called up the MPs to shut down the elevator at their floor and put guards at the doors to the stairways. And another couple to lead Officer Dav’id to Interrogation Room Two.
Motioned Balboa’s team to take over the investigation as his team was compromised in the extreme. And had security block Ducky and Jimmy from coming up to go over the body. Again, compromised. So, he had Ric call in the back up ME to work it.
Meanwhile he kicked the mess up the chain of command with a call to State to take care of calling her Embassy about the mess.

All right

State gets Ziva release into the care of the head of the Embassy with written notice that she would be available at all times and not leave the area.
Dempsey’s brother, meanwhile, has kidnapped the Director and is trying to ransom her for his brother and stash.

Hope you got your things together
Hope you are quite prepared to die
Looks like we’re in for nasty weather
One eye is taken for an eye

With a high-level member of an agency missing, Homeland and the FBI have taken over everything. Much to the ire of Gibbs as he has been thoroughly locked out of it. And placed in the brig for his attempted interference.

Well, don’t go around tonight
Well, it’s bound to take your life
There’s a bad moon on the rise

The body is given over to an independent ME for autopsy, which is inconclusive. But they do concur with investigators that Officer Dav’id played a role in his death.
While federal agents are returning Madam Jenny to her new driver and taking her to the hospital for an overnight stay, Officer Dav’id has lost her Visa and is “escorted” to a military plane bound for Israel. And her father. And has been labeled Persona-non-grata in the US.

Well, it’s bound to take your life
There’s a bad moon on the rise

  1. This is what really should have happened. Plot Bunny or not Grin was Dempsey before after or during Tony’s undercover? And since the FBI, State Dept and Homeland were involved in the investigation would they see Jenny’s plotting and Homeland get all up in her business and the fact that she let a foreign nation on a Top Security Clearance team. Just a thought.
