Bunnies

Silence breeds plot bunnies
For in that silence
They feel safe to come out
And PLAY
Everywhere

Till you can’t
Keep up with them
And they each turn
Rabid
Vorpal Little bunnies

Gnawing at the cage
Of the mind
Till the madness takes place
And baby bunnies
Everywhere

This
This my friend
This is the life
Of the artist

  1. The image of the “plot bunnies” made me smile, especially the way the poem lets them move from playful creatures to something almost feral. That shift captures a familiar experience for many artists—the moment when ideas multiply faster than we can hold them, turning creativity into a kind of beautiful chaos.

What also stayed with me is how the poem begins with silence. The bunnies only appear because the silence gives them space to come out and play. In a way, the poem quietly suggests that imagination does not grow from noise but from that open, unguarded stillness of the mind. Perhaps that is the paradox of the artist’s life: we seek the silence that invites ideas, even knowing that once they arrive, they may take over the whole landscape.
