Part Two:
Chapter One:
Flammel:
With his work in electronics and small wiring, he had already been considered graduated to the refinement area of his learning. Which put him in Apprentice grade three and ready to go onto Journeyman grade one. Way ahead of the others in his year and age. And something he graduated by the end of his first term there.
During his downtime he worked on further refining his control by making fine silver and gold necklaces that he got the metal from the rocks themselves and smelting the metal out then working the metal on the contracted necklaces and other jewelry. For half the contracted money. Part of which he would use to buy more access to more rocks to start again.
During this time, he had learned the spells to go along with the needs for magical jewelry as a grade one Journeyman. And was placing those as needed for the simpler stuff like auto-polishing spells and charms. And anti-theft. He also learned a spell to place on his books or books from the library to have a voice from the books ready them out to him as he worked so he could study at the same time or just enjoy a good audiobook.
This plus his own previous lessons, allowed him to pass his classes in regular school and get extra classes in correspondence courses. Both magical and mundane. Though only from the western schools as far as the magical school were concerned as the east coast schools were too caught up in keeping up with their counterparts in Europe and too emmeshed in exclusion of all those they thought were beneath them. Which everyone on the other side of the Appalachians were.
Sucked to be them when, for his Master’s thesis, he patented in both worlds the first true phonograph and records and the design for the basic electronic radio.
Putting him quickly in the millionaire station as he got twenty five percent of any of those sold from companies, he LEASED the patent to in either world across the globe.
And further released to the British Ministry of Defense the new and improved flack vests for their infantry to manufacture for use in their Boer War. Along with the sniper rifle with scope and a better repeating rifle to both the US and the British for their wars going on. And the infantry pistol of the 1911-A, which he made sure he had the only magical version. Though, it too, was patented. And all were under his international trademark of the A traveling down to the letter H, with Alexander the Great’s Helm in the background.
He had also made sure he was an expert in each of his design’s use and even had the magical version of the sniper rifle with a silencing spell on it. Janus had all but given him an order he was going to take care of. And that was taking out Flammel and his Stone. And Flammel was flaunting himself through European society right now.
A month later he and his wife were taken out by the magical rifle from across the street and from the roof. Before the police of this time could arrive, the Stone had been found and destroyed. And the magical bank key they had in their possession was being used to empty out everything they had. Including the other Stones. And Sacrificing Altar gear which was now also destroyed.
He pocketed the monetary items for his own use later and went on his way with no one else the wiser.
