Is It Worth It

NCIS, Anthony DiNozzo, Tony leaves

He felt it. That hit in the gut at the words they each said to him as a “joke”. The “team” knows he won’t fight back as it just brings tension to their family that he’ll be the one paying for. So, he puts on the smile of the clown and laughs it off. Try to get in his own little hit as a way of give and take.
A smack to the head and yell that you should not pick on your team members from the “Daddy” of the family according to some.

“Daddy” undermining his power because they are all his “kids” and therefore, none are above the other in rank.
The pigs said it best, “All are equal, but some are more equal than others.” As proven when he is the one to get the smacks and yells. The one to do the probie work. The one to be told when going undercover that if he doesn’t do it right to not return yet not have any backup and have to rescue himself because of it. The same with the next undercover. Each try to get backup he is hung up on and ends up saving his own life by killing the one he got close too.

And still he is disrespected when he is found traumatized by the whole event. Phone calls every minute by “Daddy” and “Sissy” for daring to take mental health time off without his permission.
More time off and messages saved to go to his lawyer for harassment and attempted stalking with the work of mental torture added to that. A legal warrant is handed to the security head for all recordings of the Gibbs Slap while in the yard. Those, along with the recorded messages are used to convict both of them on all charges and win the lawsuit against the agency and the SecNav and Director personally for allowing them to constantly get away with it.

He was tired of only his boundaries being crossed and being yelled at when he tried to stop it, this was his answer. His way of saying he had had enough. No further. He had been silent for too long. And in that silence allowed them to see he wasn’t worthy of his own respect let alone theirs.
By not keeping his own standards, lines, boundaries, and limits against them, he became optional in their world. Just something to be used as a tool and nothing more.
A tool they were all surprised when it turned on them and bit.
A tool that refused to go back into its little box but grew instead.

The tool…. Struck…. Back…. Hard.

Showing the boundaries would not be crossed again. He refused to bend to their threats, just recorded them to use against them in the court of law. Had them arrested for each time they broke into his apartment. All caught on the new hallway cameras with the door alarms calling for the cops to show up and get them yet again.
Parking in places with yet more cameras, all to get them caught vandalizing the car. Or cornering him near or in it to stop the charges against them.

Both “Daddy” and “Sissy” were found guilty of their actions and given the maximum sentences on each count. To be served consecutively. With no parole until 40 years had been served under good behavior. Plus, a full restraining order against them to stay away from him.

SecNav quietly retired when certain information Gibbs had come to light in revenge for not stopping the whole thing. Same with the Director. Both were replaced personally by the sitting President and not the cronies in Congress.
His lawsuits against both men were settled out of court along with the agency’s. And with his trust in partners destroyed, he took early retirement with that money and disappeared to a quiet place with a small college to teach film art.

Never having contact with the federal law again.
