Part 5

Gibbs was all set to protect the family of navy SEAL Curtis who had escaped prison, by himself, that Tony just sighed and called in the agent from Norfolk they had met a few cases back to come and work with Pacci while his second was out on an undercover mission. He also called in two Temporary Duty Agents to run things back in the yard for the team since Gibbs was insisting on playing cowboy at the family’s expense.

He set one up to get a warrant for an emergency access to each family members’ phones including the man’s son. Especially the son. This, while he set the second as in charge of communications between the team as a whole and accessed the team’s communication mics and Bluetooths.

He got Morrow to outright order Kate and Gibbs to allow him to guard the kid and take care of him. While Kate took care of the adults in the house and Gibbs was supposed to take care of the outside of the house.

Tony traced the transmission from the kid’s phone and confiscated it while handcuffing the uncooperating child to the metal frame of his bed, a pistol to his head as he had to threaten the brat to get him to shut the fuck up and not warn the SEAL.
Pulling out a child’s dose of tranquilizer he knocked the kid out for the night and tucked him into bed and nice looking with his head above the blankets and the kid breathing quietly.

He had ordered the second TDA to reopen Cutis’ case and see who the witnesses against him were, then check the evidence against reality with both Ducky and Abby. Something had to have set Curtis off and he wanted to know what it was.
The first TDA, meanwhile, had traced the kid’s phone to a number that was travelling near him. The kid’s phone rang three times then it was quiet. The trace told them he was right out the bedroom door having bypassed the guard Gibbs was being.

The knob slowly turned, while Tony was hidden in the corner on the other side of the door, his gun already cocked from his talk with the kid.
Curtis crept in and whispered his son’s name and Tony blew his right knee away loudly awakening the rest of the house and getting both Kate and Gibbs running up to the room.
Curtis fell down as he raised his own pistol and shot at a rolling Tony who shot back to take out the man’s pistol and hand.
Gibbs landed on Curtis to arrest the pained man who had a destroyed gun hand and knee.

Kate then noticed from the entrance to the room, the kid never even twitched he was so out of it.

While Curtis was in surgery and Tony was writing out his after-action report, the family was in the ER with the kid to make sure he was okay after being given the tranquilizer. Tony’s report mentioned the kid was a conspirator with his escaped father and had to be made safe for everyone.

The two TDAs had done as Tony asked and found that the best friend of the husband’s back then had come back with an STD from fooling around, something he had given both his wife and Curtis’ wife right before everything happened. Curtis had an alibi that the prosecution refused to allow to be brought up. He had been at the hospital having his leg cast removed at the time of the murder of his best friend that he was convicted of.

The best friend’s wife was found guilty of the murder at a later trial while Curtis was overturned though he was on house arrest for his two-year parole for his escape and what he had done during it.

Agent McGee had majorly aided Pacci in tracing the money to the female now living in Voss’ old house. He also traced some of it to a sex change surgeon which explained everything enough for a judge to allow a warrant for Voss’ arrest for theft. Agent McGee had done such a bang-up job according to Pacci, that he was transferred to Pacci’s team as the new probie.
But in revenge for his stunt on the Curtis case, Tony had to explain in triplicate to HR and Legal why he did the things he did and take his punishment like the man he claimed he was.
