Chapter Two
There had been yet another coup in Atlantis as neither the city, nor those who came to it, would have anything to do with Sumner. Finding him to be just as dangerous in his own way as Weir. And just as much a megalomaniac as her.
John was back in charge, with McKay in charge of the hard science divisions, and Grodin in charge of the soft science divisions. Including both health care divisions. And that meant a long discussion between Grodin, John, and Carson over Carson being CMO when he had not worked on people outside of research in over a decade.
Biro was placed in charge of medical care and now in charge of medical experiments and Carson, with Grodin overseeing Carson personally.
With Grodin taking the soft sciences off of the list from McKay lightened that load a lot and allowed McKay to get more things done in priority order for their survival, and John made sure that this time their team was not always up to go out. And that the Genii worlds were locked out of the gate. Along with the Asurion Planet. Among others. And he placed a priority on other planets that, in the last life, were profitable to them. Making sure that he, Teyla, and Rodney were the team to find runners, and Ronon.
Except for the ex-leader, Sumner, the base was all in for taking out as many of the Wraith as they could. And often went hunting now that the Wraith base in their area was taken out.
And by the time they had contact again with Earth, they had taken out several main bases and had a lock on several more and the main home planet.
Unfortunately, Sumner and Weir were amongst the losses in the fight against their main enemy. What with their insistence of always being right and not following the orders given to them. Their bodies never found intact. What was found of them.
And it had been Atlantis that had contacted Earth and not the other way around, as they had found the planet the Asurion’s had cashed the ZPMs on and grabbed them before blowing the planet and the bugs.
Given this largess extra personnel were transferred over to make up for their losses as well as supplies via the gate. And transferring those that needed to leave the city for one reason or another. And they used the new resources to take out the other bases and the home planet as well. A planet that had been almost depopulated by the ‘Lanteans taking everything else out beforehand. Making the extinction of the Wraith inevitable. And making it possible to make Atlantis a beta site in case Earth ever had to be evacuated.
But that is another tale.
