HP, Harry Potter, Post the Battle of Hogwarts, Contemplating the Past
I’ll Tend to the Flame
What was becoming known as The Battle of Hogwarts was over and it was time to tend to the wounded and dead.
While Harry was amongst those tending the wounded, others were mourning their dead. Like Molly over her son, Fred.
With no care to the dying, only the dead, they worshiped only the ashes of the dead, and not the flames still beating in the hearts of the living that needed their care.
But who was he to say, after all he had never been allowed to mourn his dead, the ones that were the enemy of the State or never existed because his heroism took precedence.
He’d had to learn to care for the Flames in everyone’s heart, over his wish to worship the ashes of his own dead.
And in the end, he carried on caring for the living as everyone demanded while they all cared for their dead.
