Perceptions 2

Continued: 9/5/2026

We have things happen all the time, or authors/writers show characters having moments where something happens and the thought is coincidence. Either in a character’s words, like Gibbs from NCIS, or our own thoughts, is the idea that there is no such thing. Therefore, it has to have MEANING.
Meaning only our perceptions place on it though or to push a plot.

Everything is still a matter of our own biases and how we see things or acknowledge them.
A man going to do a business deal will frown and gripe about a storm. Saying it is delaying him. While a child delightfully stomps in the puddles the storm creates. Their babysitter or young mother soon joining them with happy memories of doing the same not that long ago.

Same storm, different eyes and what they see.

With characters who supposedly have high perception, this should be taken into account as the mood would interfere with what they perceive. What they pick up on when going over things someone left behind or that they are hunting.
Even in RL, hunters out in the woods have times where the mood is wrong and their prey stays away from them as they project it out into the world. Ruining their hunt.
It’s why ancient Shaman had hunting rituals to psych the hunters up for a good hunt.

A character who is a Sentinel and a Crime Scene Investigator, if not in the right frame of mind will pull the wrong information from the scene. Much like the wine testers mentioned. While someone like Supes would be in the same boat as his bad guys prove by getting things passed by him.
So, neither is the be all and end all of perfection due all to mortal feelings.

Just as real-life mortals are forced by their feelings to have them impact on our perceptions of things.
