This has a bit of a crossover with early Star Trek even though it is mainly SGC/A and it has Janus interfering with certain people through time travel and the merging of those he took to do so.
This came about due to my weird set of reading material during the day where I went from historical military fiction to sci-fi Star Trek crossing with SGC and said what the bloody hell why not I hate the man any way.
For those shippers out there that hate Carter, I needed Jack to have a female to be with him so sorry about that. Though if Hoover could get away with it as a hidden thing while saying something else in public at the time, I figure Jack could too.

This has military inaccuracies out the butt as I never served being found to be 4-F when I tried out of high school. Being who will be there and in control later, don’t count on historical accuracy either so jump off the high horses about both of them.
This story is totally an Alternate Universe so take that into consideration when reading it.

Chapter 1

General Johnathan (Jack) O’Neill stood next to his old second in command, Samantha (Sam) Carter, watching the Augments waring against the full force of the SGC and the UN forces in the literal World at War that had started WWIII on the screen as his partner, Daniel Jackson, worked with others to ferry all the books out of the area. Some bright boys in the Trust had added the gene to Khan’s troops which had allowed them to take over Camelot and Brigadoon. Pitting those against Atlantis in a fight to the death which brough down all three cities over civilizations across the globe. They were currently fighting a retreating action with their backs to the Gate as further nukes went off in the background.
McKay and Sheppard were manning the DHD that had finally been put in while Carter and he held position as the last of their people withdrew through the Gate. Their jobs were to destroy all the information left then the DHD and the Gate before allowing Khan’s forces to get a hold of it.

The countdown started as they continued to fire through the door outside of the room. A bright light, a voice giving the added knowledge. Then……

Jack’s memories of becoming the nation’s VP in 1948, his marriage to Carter who was ignored even if she did have a university degree in physics. His assistant was Daniel who Truman kept wanting to kidnap for himself as he was Linquist of par excellence but no matter the incentive, he refuses to leave Jack’s service, having worked with him in Europe during the war before being tagged to join Jack in the legislature then office. The current memories had them in early December of ’51 and at war/conflict in Korea. MacArthur having gotten them embroiled in the civil war that country was in while he supposedly managed it from his estate in Tokyo with his yes men minions. Not only that but he had driven his troops past the 38th parallel and forced the Chinese into the war and now they armed forced were on the brink of being driven back into the Sea of Japan by the Chinese/CCF and the KPA/North Koreans. Yet MacArthur was openly stating the country was going to nuke China any day now and win the war for him at his command. And with that vocally going against his CoC’s vocally saying they would not nuke anyone again right now.

Jack knew that MacArthur was angling to get the Presidency through the war he had started and hoped to force the issue of the nuke so he could win the office. All the while his hallucinations of what was actually happening to his troops in country while at the same time reporting to Truman and the public just the opposite, had Jack just waiting to disappear the man forever into GITMO on treason charges.

He also now knew that he and Carter would soon be disturbed by the area Secret Service to tell him Truman had a massive stroke and was no longer able to do his job, which would put him in office immediately due to the war crisis. He also somehow knew that unlike his time after Roosevelt, he would be serving four terms in office with John, who also came with them and would be his new VP, taking over to serve four more to get them out of the current crisis.
Janus had to have interfered that was all he could think of, just as his door was knocked on to tell them that the President was no longer able to serve his duty to the nation.

Quickly being sworn in and getting Sheppard in as his VP, against the wishes of the ones doing their first emergency briefings, they added his “wife,” Carter, and both Jackson, and McKay. They were even more shocked at his first orders.
“Sam, get me the electronic packages for aircrafts we need asap, no cutting corners but put the patents in your name like I know you want too and that includes the circuit boards.
“McKay, I want new planes and choppers asap. Full package deal. Work with Sam and you get the same deal on patents. I also want the plans you have for the rechargeable ZPMs.” They both nodded at him and pulled out papers and pens to start right there.
“Danny, I want you in with the diplomats in Korea. You are there as my man and to just listen as a translator for now. You’ve played the game for years, so I want your take in A when you get back to me each evening at your time.
“Sheppard, I want you in Tokyo. Force that asswipe there home to answer to me personally as to just what the hell he has been thinking to contradict his CoC in public and to the press. Gag and bind him and shove him in a rug to get him here if you have too, but get him in my office in front of me as soon as you can. Take brutes in the Secret Service if you feel you need it for support, and since he’s in the Army and you were Air Force, take Marine guards to make sure you are obeyed since he seems to have quite a following there. Get the REAL fucking idea as to what the fuck is going on over there and what drugged drinks, they are taking in. If all of his people are that far out in Lala-land I want, you to call me and I’ll PERSONALLY reinstate you at command level over them to take command of that FUBAR shit.”

Those two nodded and they left to get going to where they needed to go. The briefers had no idea what just happened. Especially when the new VP was in Tokyo within 16 hours of the order being given and making his presence known to all of those who thought they were in charge. Especially the shocked MacArthur when he was forced to listen in with all his staff as the new VP was sworn back into the Air Force at a higher grade than he was and ordered to take over for the DISGRACED general, who HAD been in charge before then. Then listen as HE was ORDERED by HIS new superior back to DC to answer to the new President along with most of his yes men. As General Sheppard put it, “Do NOT Pass Go. Do NOT Collect 200 Dollars. Do NOT Stop and Get Anything Along the Way. Go Straight to the Airport from there and to DC.” What families they had there would be sent later with their household goods. What mistresses they had on the side would be tested for STDs with the reports sent over the lines to the President along with the fact that they were fucking outside their marriages. This too, would be broadcast to the press they so loved to contradict their CoC with to show that they were too busy getting poontang to be worrying about the soldiers in the field that were fighting their WAR not CONFLICT.
They all paled and slunk out the door. Even their once leader after being reamed by the man who had the obvious ear of his boss and had the full support of the marine guards with him. All of whom had filled the troop transport he had come over on. And all who were, even now, replacing his staff on the ground.

Meanwhile, Jackson had made it over to be with the diplomats working to end the conflict as Congress kept calling it. Handing over one official letter to the head that showed he had the trust of the new President to sit in on the meetings. In his possession was another letter that would allow him to fully take over the meetings on the US side. That letter would be used when the time was right.

Both scientists had their designs properly drawn up and ready to submit officially to the DoD patent office with the new President’s Stamp of Approval to get their ass busy and start not only building the new designs but incorporating the new designs into what was on order. The first balk had the head and idiot bigot before the irate President to explain himself before his company was dropped as a contractor for the government. The next ones had to go through a very strict contractual agreement with McKay as he was more used to civilian and DoD contracts than Carter. Besides, in the day and age they were in she was just considered a piece of fluff.
The one who tried to get her to make the coffee and slapped her ass, got his contract literally shoved down his throat and his hand broken, by the “nice piece of fluffy ass.” They took her much more seriously after that and stayed on the other side of the table away from her. But the harsh contract with harsh demands the products come in on time and on budget were signed in the end.

McKay started to build his ZPMs after that. While Carter designed the power plants that worked with them. Secretly they combined designs to create a ZPM bomb. One that the new project was called John Boy. These would be used with the high-altitude bombers that were even now being built at Groom Lake.
The other aircraft contract upgrades were now on a strict schedule with fines to the contractor for meeting or exceeding the contractual agreement on quality and quantity. Same with the upgraded Patton tanks that would remove the engine and transmission problems the old ones had and make them so that they could actually be used in the field like they were supposed to. New military rifles that would clog or shut down in freezing weather were being pumped out for the troops in the field as well. Along with ammunition. The draft and recall of old troops from the last war was going on and open blame at the yes men who had been pictured in Tokyo partying in the Times by the President for the fact that the war wasn’t over with yet. As well as for all the deaths.
This call allowed the treason trial for MacArthur and his yes men for getting them in the WAR and they called it a war now and not a conflict, in the first place. It came out that there was political aspirations behind the start of the war and nothing more. Showing so with all the public news quotes from MacArthur basically saying so.

They were all convicted of trying to overthrow the government and sent off to be executed at Leavenworth.

All the while the CCF and KPA were using this matter to put off the peace talks until they were in better control of things now that General Sheppard was in control and had the President’s full backing to take the war to the enemy at all counts. And across the boards. If that meant forcing those in the Admiralty or other leadership that would refuse to play with each other, he had permission to relieve them and bring someone up the ranks that would obey orders and play ball with the full military. The Navy didn’t believe he would know at first, not knowing he had long learned to multi-task mentally and listen to the com-lines while working as he had done so on Atlantis. The moment the Admiralty refused to aid the ground forces, he was on that same line countermanding that order and relieving that, Admiral. Ordering him to present himself to his CoC to explain why he was insisting on killing men in the Army. He also insisted that the land staff get off their asse’s and get the com units that would allow the tanks covering the infantry to actually TALK to the infantry. Those to slow on the mark from what he heard over the coms, were dismissed and arrested for attempted murder of troops under their command.
