McMurdo International Science Base to be the Agent Afloat for DiNozzo asked for by name from those in a branch out of Homeland.
%$%$%$%$%$
Tony spent the first week getting his vaccinations due to the experiments at the nearby science base he was told he might be going out to later.
While this was going on, the un-censored files of an Air Force Major was put in front of him by a Senator he knew well having grown up next to his mansion in the Hampton’s.
Senator Holland wanted a true investigation into just what the hell happened to his son in the sandbox that got him killed and that the Air Force was willing to go so far as to send a highly decorated officer to the back end of beyond to keep him from talking. An officer who was the best friend of his son and had even been to his recent wedding as the best man. An officer that the uncensored files said he was the only surviving witness to what happened to his son.
In the files that were supposedly uncensored there were no notes from a debriefing on what exactly happened. Just a note that he had disobeyed his commanding officer and as such was being sent down under to cool off with no promotion for five years as punishment. Even though he had been up for one in two months.
His next call was to his uncle at the British Admiralty to get the scoop on the commander and the incident since it was by the international camps. A large file email dump later had him saving it to several usb’s and cd’s as well as the Gibbs tried and true print copy for his own annotations.
The paper copy files he read on the long flight to McMurdo from California where he’d been based at.
The paper copy that had him calling the Senator for a copy email of the supposed autopsy done on his son, then to be told his son had been too damaged according to the officers reporting to him and as such it was deemed appropriate he be cremated and his ashes be sent home instead.
Tony had the Senator amend a copy of that report to him at his government email. Then noted that down on the copy his uncle had sent him of the Brit marines reports of their own rescue mission that had been in the area and had aided Sheppard in getting the bodies of those that had crashed out and had blown up the chopper that had been shot down.
This was cross referenced with the other reports noted on the Brit rumors noted in their report of those extra deaths in the American commander’s troops that he had refused to send any help for with the statement that it would be too costly in money. And the added report that after Sheppard was forced to leave, every officer under that commander left the service rather than serve under him any longer if they weren’t given lateral transfers out. Currently the commander had been transferred out of the sandbox and was the adjunct of the General in charge of Acquisition of Personal in the Air Force.
Upon arrival, Tony forced the commander of the base to give him Sheppard’s full file while getting the comment back that the traitor was finally being investigated huh?
At that, he went to the infirmary wing and demanded the same, getting a thick file back.
He commed the commander to express the need for the Major as soon as possible and to have a meeting room made ready since the Major had never been actually debriefed on his actions in the sandbox.
Plan to take him off duty for the foreseeable future. And if he was in any way not capable of being debriefed by him during this time. He would see to it a full investigation on the attempted murder of an officer would commence.
Oh, and if in case they wanted to hide it further the senator who sent the order for him to be there was on the military appropriations committee and he was finished on getting the run around about getting this debriefing.
In otherwords, HE WANTED THE REPORT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tony got his meeting room but was told Sheppard was on a flight with a General to the nearby science base at the moment. A reported problem had arisen, and he was staying overnight but would return in the morning. He was also told that the General would be reading him in as it suddenly became important.
In the meantime, Tony read the files he now had on the life and times of Sheppard down under. And he wasn’t happy. At all.
%$%$%$%$
In the end, Sheppard’s name was cleared and his commanders (both of them) were up on charges for their actions. Sheppard got his rise in rank at the same time as the base he was stationed at got a full change of service members.
Tony had been out to the outpost as his own blood tests showed the gene and Weir wanted her own tests there for her doctors to experiment with. She got pissed off and both she and her pet doctor were yelling bloody murder over him not allowing either of them access to his fluids or any part of him to Mengele with – his words. As it was an international group of scientists there, that name brought up a lot of other yelling from those countries and people who had suffered under regimes like that. A strike was announced if either of them was in anyway connected to what they were doing as everyone now felt that they would all end up as an experiment.
Weir and her pet doctors were pulled out by the IOC against Weir’s wishes when further investigation by Tony found links to Kinsey and the Trust and their needs for a “Greater Human”.
The Atlantis mission was put on hold until they knew exactly what they were in for and were ready for it this time.
And this time they would have an actual head of security and investigation in the name of Agent DiNozzo. The new Agent Afloat for Atlantis.
